Brian Sedgwick

County Commander

Brian Sedgwick is a dedicated veteran and community leader from New Lebanon, New York. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for nearly 26 years, retiring as a First Sergeant and former Base Honor Guard Superintendent.

A 35-year member of the American Legion, Brian has been actively involved with Post 1236 in New Lebanon, NY. He is a past Commander of his post and currently serves as the Columbia County American Legion Commander.

Married for 38 years, Brian continues to advocate for veterans and support his local community through his longstanding Legion involvement.

Tom Fisher

1st Vice Commander

A graduate of the American Legion Basic Training Course and the Department of New York American Legion College, Tom became an instructor at the Department College in 2025 and also serves as a Boys State Counselor, mentoring future leaders and strengthening the Legion’s youth programs. He is a volunteer at the Veterans Food Pantry and in 2026 he was named as a member of Columbia County’s Honor A Vet Committee.

Elijah Falkner

County Adjutaunt

Elijah is a vital officer of the American Legion, responsible for keeping the organization running smoothly at the county level. Serving as the chief administrative officer, the Adjutant maintains official records, manages correspondence, supports local posts, and ensures that programs, reports, and communications are handled accurately and on time. Through organization, attention to detail, and dedication to Legion values, the County Adjutant helps strengthen coordination between posts.
